A big, big thank you to choir members and our audience at the concert on Saturday for your generosity in contributing to our collection for the Ukraine. We raised just over £1125 via wine sales and the retiring collection – a fantastic sum reflecting the deep sympathy we have with the Ukrainian people who are having to deal with the horrifying impact of war and displacement.
The money has been donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee’s (DEC’s) Ukraine fund that raised over £200 million in its first two weeks alone. DEC is providing humanitarian aid to Ukrainian refugees and displaced people in Ukraine and neighbouring countries via its members and partner agencies.
This was a great outcome from a successful concert with over 100 tickets sold. Many thanks to Nick and Andrew, our soloists, Shona and Christopher, and our semi-chorus for helping us deliver a lovely musical evening.
