Latest Update from Nick

Dear choir members.

We’ve had our first two rehearsals. Don’t worry if you missed them – we look forward to seeing you next Monday 11 October. We will be working towards our annual ‘A Christmas Cracker’ in the Town Hall on Saturday 18 December. Currently, Lewes Town Hall is restricting its capacity to Half, and as this may still be the case in December, we are already planning to shorten the concert to 1hr 15mins, and do it twice in one evening, the first concert at 5pm, and the second at 7.30pm. The programme will include Vivaldi Gloria (1st movt.); 3 choruses from Messiah and the Rossini Kyrie all from the Booklet we used in Autumn 2020. We hope to use Carols for Choirs 1 (Green book) for more choir carols and also of course some Audience carols. We have one or two **Guest Stars** lined up, but need to check their availability before publishing names.

Then in March we will be performing Dvorak: Mass in D and Faure: Requiem, again at the Town Hall, accompanied by our rehearsal pianist Andrew Wilson playing the organ.

We also look forward to being in our new rehearsal venue, Lewes Town Hall, where the staff will put out and put away our seats!! The Hall is also very spacious so we will be able to space out if we wish. The committee decided that it would be better for us to rehearse without a break from 7.30pm to 9pm, and those who would like to socialise afterwards will be able to in one of the several pubs very close by. Parking will not be quite so easy, but it’s all FREE in Lewes after 5pm, and there are Car Parks very near.

See you on Monday 11 October.
